Over five intensive days, we explored abandoned sites across Berlin, observing and documenting the traces of time and transformation embedded in these spaces. Each visit was followed by discussions on philosophical concepts of space and emptiness, examining how meaning dissolves or persists in places left behind. Throughout the course, I produced several records and notes that later became an essential part of my ongoing reflection on the relationship between space, memory, and human presence.

I was particularly fascinated by how abandoned places evoke memories. The inherent emptiness of these spaces, no longer filled with life and purpose, creates room for self-reflection and growth. Drawing on Heidegger's concept from "Art and Space," where he asserts that space is the void between volumes, I believe these empty places mirror our own inner landscapes, offering a connection to the ethereal realm.
The audio, by Sergey Makarov, features recordings captured in these abandoned places.
This project is an early marker on the path that later unfolded into my final project, Sentido.
