Delírio is an illustrated poetry book developed as part of the 7th Project of Visual Communication Design course at the Department of Arts and Design at PUC Rio, under the guidance of Julieta Sobral, Gabriella Gusmão, André Beltrão, and Izabel Gomes. All illustrations and poems are my original creations.

It journey borders limits, revealing desires, easing intense emotions, and seeking to understand existence. Who can one be in an unknown space, surrounded by strangers, while being a stranger oneself? The word 'delirium' refers to a state of intense mental excitement, where reality blends with dreams, utopias, and imaginations. It is in this space between the real and the imaginary that the deepest desires, the most intense pains, and the poems of this book emerge.

The order disregards the chronology of creation, constructing a timeline of delirium that begins with contextualization, followed by despair, and concludes with resolution. I also paid careful attention to the visual balance, alternating between pages that are predominantly black and pages that are predominantly white.

The illustrations set the tone of the poetry. They are abstract, in black and white, fluid, pigmented, mostly dark, with a few delicate ones. All of them were created using ink on 120g paper with water, then edited in Photoshop, primarily working with 'mirrors' or crops.

During my exchange program in Berlin, Germany, in 2023, I began writing daily. Not to document events, but to understand my emotions in the face of so many unfamiliar experiences. I filled 5 A5-sized notebooks, totaling over 400 pages, including some illustrations, a few short stories, and many poems. The idea of creating a book had always been present in my mind, even though I never explicitly set this intention while writing. From over 200 written pieces, I typed and printed 92 poems. Over the course of 4 weeks, I read, selected, excluded, and reflected on what would shape this book. In the end, I selected 17 poems and created a timeline of a delight.
