Pedro Bial is one of Brazil’s most influential journalists, writers, and television hosts, known for his sharp storytelling and cultural relevance. With a career spanning decades, he has conducted historic interviews, presented iconic shows like Fantástico and Big Brother Brasil, and authored thought-provoking books. His social media presence, followed by over a million people, extends his legacy into the digital space, requiring a strategy that balances his intellectual depth with accessibility.
As the graphic designer of the team at Out Of Office, I was responsible for the visual strategy behind Pedro Bial’s social media management. Alongside Alessandra Brito, Jamile Karam, and Alexia Kronig, we worked collaboratively to develop a cohesive content calendar, conceptualize ideas, and present creative strategies that aligned with Pedro’s identity.
One of our biggest challenges was navigating major structural changes within the account while maintaining its authenticity. This included organizing a coherent color palette, refining the visual consistency, and increasing engagement, all while ensuring the page didn’t lose its organic and personal feel
Beyond the daily management of his social media, I also had the opportunity to work closely with Pedro Bial in person during his speech at the Academia Brasileira de Letras (ABL). Spending the day with him, I captured not only his speech but also a range of organic and behind-the-scenes moments that enriched his digital presence. From his preparation and training before taking the stage to an intimate tour of the ABL’s historic library, the content highlighted Pedro’s deep connection with literature and his meticulous approach to public speaking. This experience reinforced our strategy of maintaining an authentic and engaging narrative across his platforms.
For Pedro’s Instagram, our approach was deeply organic, emphasizing his direct involvement in the content. Since this remains his personal space, we crafted visuals that balance a casual and intellectual aesthetic—two seemingly contrasting characteristics that Pedro seamlessly embodies. The result was a profile that not only reflects his public persona but also preserves the genuineness of his voice in the digital landscape.
